Back to College or University New Essentials

Young students these days make their dorm room much more fun!

We’re getting closer to back-to-college days, and I’m thinking of some items I would have enjoyed back in the day—had I known better!

Strangely, back in the day, I used to drink caffeinated soft drinks instead of coffee in the mornings. That was not a good idea, but, again, I didn’t know any better. Kids these days, however, are more attuned to adult ways of life, lingering in cafes and being more mindful of their food and drink choices in general.

If you think about it, we’ve grown way more sophisticated as a society since the nineties. Part of it, unfortunately, has to do with mounting rates of stress, environmental pollution, and, with them, various illnesses, but also, on a positive note, businesses have become more connected to customers’ identity choices, design preferences, and environmental and social consciousness concerns. College-bound young ones will buy health-conscious and environmentally-friendly tall glass cups with bamboo lids and glass straws, easier-to-hold stainless-steel travel mugs with a fitted lid and a ceramic-coated straw, and they will may get multilayered, puncture-resistant air mattresses instead of a bargain-priced good-quality memory-foam mattress (affiliate link) for their college dorm or other university room share.

They will get quiet standing-desk treadmills for their room, rather than rely only on the ones at the various gyms, and buy rocking chairs to use in common areas in their dorms or their room share.

They will get espresso machines (affiliate link) for their room rather than wait to have their first cup of java in the cafeteria with breakfast.

Some of them will also buy at least one other piece of furniture if they live in an apartment, such as a lift-top coffee table, or, at the very least, a nice new bean bag chair (affiliate link).

Happy days! 🙂
