Cute Personalized New Baby Blankets with a Magical Unicorn

My unicorn blankets for babies are ready, with two unicorn images and several patterns, and my fingers itch to write this blog post.

Babies are cute and they deserve cute things 🙂 I have been thinking about personalized baby blankets for quite a while, and I’m happy to finally be able to offer these unicorn designs. I created them with the help of a team of two talented illustrators, based on two ideas I had, one for a unicorn kneeling by a baby bassinet, and one with a flying unicorn carrying a sleeping baby in a bassinet. I used the first set of images on presentation cards (cards introducing a new baby), and then I made these newborn blankets with both sets of images.

I say “sets of images,” because I wanted several skin tones for both illustrations, from pale-skinned, to Brown skins of caramel, hazelnut, and chocolate tones, to a darker Black skin. It’s not ideal to use only these six specific skin tones, but it’s something. I love to look at all the babies in the illustrations, and I hope these images will speak to many parents.

As you can see, my unicorn concept is one where the magical animal carries the newborns and watches over them rather than being, for instance, the baby girl herself, as in many other designs for baby blankets. The unicorn has been embraced for its uniqueness, which is why it appears in many products for cute little princesses, but in fact this creature is more magical than that and deserves to be represented as a source of protection and guide for babies and little ones rather than only as a figure meant to show how special babies are.
