Celebrating May 1 in Downtown Bucharest. Photos of Architecture, Food, and More

I started a post on May 1 but didn’t have time to finish it. Here it is.

Today is International Workers Day, and everyone in Romania has a spring in their step, whether they’ve traveled somewhere, gone out to a park, or having a barbecue in their backyard.

For my part, I took a four-hour walk downtown yesterday with my mother, and it was wonderful, even though it tired us both. Part of that, of course, has to do with the busy-bee workers we are. We spent half the day working before going out, so we were already a little tired before we attempted our ambitious promenade. I say “ambitious” because we tried to do—and we did—a lot of things in four hours. Here are some photos.
