Fiction writers usually rely more on imagination than on replicating certain lived life experiences, but sometimes people beg to be included in certain dialogues 🙂 True, you can do that kind of borrowing from life by working around the actual words and preserving just certain emotions and attitudes, as I find myself doing, but sometimes a certain turn of phrase gets stuck in your writing—so this warning of “Careful, or” has its place in the life of writers.

I made two designs with this writers’ meme/slogan, and they both include faces, and then used them on T-shirts, mugs, mousepads, notebooks and journals, etc. I intended these designs and objects as fun statements at writers’ conferences and in certain groups of friends and acquaintances, and have, indeed, sold a number of objects with these designs, possibly for these very purposes. They also make great gifts for the writer(s) in your family and in certain circles of friends (NaNoWriMo writers, anyone?).
And . . . I also have some versions with gibberish writing! Here’s one.
And then I have some mugs and mousepads that I really like.
As I mentioned above, I also have another design with this “Careful, or” meme. That one is fun too, in fact maybe more so because you can see more faces. So whereas this first design is more mysterious and makes you work harder to see the faces hidden in there, this one offers an instant recognition of what the design is about, as you can spot several bespectacled faces right away. Here it is, this second version, on a pinback button.
