I’m too tired for a blog post (10 p.m. here) but I wanted to write a Merry Christmas post 🙂
I know many people are struggling with the freak storm that hit the US. I hope they stay safe and healthy!
And for those of us who can be in a heated home with family / family and friends / friends / husband, wife, or partner / kids / or whatever else your family / Christmas company looks like, I hope you’ll work a little harder today to accept more things from people who love you. I feel that much too often we’re rationalizing things for ourselves because we feel we’re so alone in seeing certain things a certain way. That’s all good on many occasions, but what if we tried to be more accepting? My discovery is that often when I switch positions and try to see how things look from the other person’s perspective, I leave the final stages of working out through certain conversations closer to a state of grace. In fact, yesterday and today I felt I entered a state of grace several times, and that is no small thing.
So I wish you all a Merry Christmas and hope that you’ll consider seeing every moment with family as ever more precious as time goes by. It can be a heavy feeling, but it can also be a chance to conquer new territories of good feeling and life insights—provided that we take care not to be super overworked and overwhelmed with life, of course.
Merry Christmas, once again!
To a happier, healthier life,
Mira
