In July 2021 I was moved to create new baby birth announcements in the form of magnets. They included a round photo of the newborn, the baby’s name birth stats, and “I love you, Grandma / Grandpa / Aunt / Uncle / Godmother / Godfather”
Well, I haven’t been very successful with them, even though I readily imagined them on people’s refrigerators.
What people seem to prefer instead, and it makes sense, since they’re more festive, are Christmas ornaments with newborns for Grandma and Grandpa and various other family members. So I created several series of those. I will show you some examples here. I’m proud of them too, and I’ve recently revamped their colors and fonts to increase the contrast and include more modern typography. I also created new designs this year. Enjoy!
I’ll start with the more recent design. For some of you it may be a little over-the-top, but I think it works for Christmas and it balances well the visual weight of the metal frame.

Please note that the text is much crisper on the actual ornaments!

I also have one for both Grandma and Grandpa, with the text “Our First Christmas as Grandparents 202Y” and a photo of Grandma and Grandpa holding the new baby. In the case of the example below, I couldn’t find a free photo of grandparents and baby, so I used the closest approximation.

I have made different photo Christmas ornaments for grandpa and godparents (and godmother and godfather), as well as for aunt and uncle, but you can easily change the text in the designs above to suit whatever family member you want to gift the ornament to.
So rather than showing you the same designs for godparents or great-grandparents, for instance, I’m showing you some new ornaments below, some from this year and others from 2021. Even though I changed several elements this year, to increase the contrast between text and background and showcase different modern fonts, I’m still selling some of the older ornaments, so here you have both.
They all have another photo and First Christmas 202Y on the back.

And now the recent versions for the two designs above.

See which you prefer. I also have the above designs for twins. Here’s one of them.

I also have other recent designs, among them one with a red frame, one with a (faux) golden glitter frame, and one with a square (faux) golden glitter frame. Here they are.

And here’s one with a (faux) golden glitter frame. Please note that these round ceramic ornaments are all the same size.

At this point, I personally prefer both the white ceramic ornaments and the one above with faux gold glitter, but in the past I made more minimalist designs as well. These days I like more oomph, which is why I created square (faux) golden glitter first Christmas photo ornaments as well.

I have also made a similar design on these ceramic Christmas ornaments for “Our First Christmas as Great-Grandparents” and Grandparents. These ceramic ornaments, in contrast to the metal ones shown above, have two sides, so I’m able to show two photos and write “First Christmas 202Y” on the back.

I realize the babies in the above photos have different color eyes, but these are just template photos anyway. I worked hard enough on these ornaments as it was, and this small detail won’t make a difference in the ornament you’ll receive, so I allowed myself to cut a tiny corner.
It’s rather late in the holiday season and I still have to continue to make and promote many other of my Christmas products. Here are the ones I wrote or updated blog posts for already (the posts will open in new tabs):
